Motor Output Sprocket 26-27-28-29 tooth

 

                    MOTOR DRIVE SPROCKET OPTIONS

Review the factory procedures for the removal in the H-D Service Manual for your motorcycle. Be careful to follow all warnings and cautions found in the Service Manual.

STOCK 24T OR 25T MOTOR SPROCKET

 

Stock motor drive sprocket = 24T Teeth for FLT fuel injected

Stock motor drive sprocket = 25T teeth for other TC-88 H/D

FLT Fuel Injection :  24T Eng – 37T Clutch

with 78L link prim. chain.

FLT Carbureted: 25T Eng – 36T Clutch with 78L link chain.

FXD & FLS FI & Carb: 25T Eng – 36T Clutch with 82L link chain

 

EMC 28T  MOTOR SPROCKET FLT-FI

 

28 teeth sprocket ring welded to get 24+4=28 teeth.

Pitch Diameter = xxx            New chain requires two more links.

Engine Starting Torque increased by 28/24=1.17 or 17% more.

24T in 5th gear with bike at 72mph => engine at 3200rpm

27T in 5th gear with bike at 72mph => engine at 2844rpm

28T in 5th gear with bike at 72mph => engine at 2742rpm

 

EMC 29T MOTOR SPROCKET FLT & FLS & FXD

 

29 teeth sprocket ring welded to get 25+4=29 teeth.

Pitch Diameter = xxx                 New chain requires two more links.

Engine Starting Torque increased by 29/25=1.17 or 17% more.

25T in 5th gear with bike at 72mph => engine 3000rpm

28T in 5th gear with bike at 72mph => engine 2678rpm

29T in 5th gear with bike at 72mph => engine 2586rpm
