EMC Screw Compressor
The EMC screw compressor is more efficient than the roots blower. Less mechanical energy is imparted to the inlet air. Hence, the temperature rise is half that of roots type blowers. The method of transporting and squeezing the air was originally invented by Alf Lyshom about 1938. Now with the improvements in precision 4-Axis machining centers we are able to manufacture precise 4 lobe male and 6 lobe female rotors. EMC started design and prototyping this 4-6 screw compressor 2 years ago and now we are in the testing stage.
Only billet 6061-T6 aluminum is used to make the 4-6 rotors and housing. The cover holds the oil and is chromed. The front housing supports exhaust manifold, the bearings and seals. The back housing supports the rear bearings and intake manifold. The 4-6 rotors are anodized and clear Teflon impregnated.
For maximum thermodynamic efficiency the rotors need to be six inches long. However, in the application of the V-2 motorcycle arena we have shortened the length down to 4 inches. We men do not ride bow-legged.
Multiple patent applications are in the works.
The unique features are: 1. Light weight rotors, about 40% of standard industrial screw compressors. 2. Unique lobe shape to ensure .008" gap between the rotors. 3. EMC's exclusive radial expansion drive hubs allow for field replacement of internal parts. 4. Tool kit for compressor disassembly of housing for polishing. 5. Multiple sprockets are available for tuning the rpm to match your motor. Screw Compressor sizes and displacement :
